Graham and all, shame about our GB (or should I say Scotland) curling result but the Sweden Gold was a great match to watch.
I’m now enjoying Mixed Team Ski jumping . Lots of Slovenian flags being waved. The big hill event to come in a couple of days which sorts the men from the boys !
Anyway, what I wanted to ask was : I cannot ice skate ( with those dangerous sharpe blades ), so why can’t I get those shoes the curlers use and enjoy going round an ice rink ?

Good question Mike. I have no idea! Yes the Sweden / USA game was a great watch.

The England result against Wales flattered England as Wales were so poor and I had my doubts today but for me this was the poorest England performance in several years.
No leadership at all, no brains used, no plans, no plan B, just no idea . When things are going wrong, not working , you have to change your game plan. They have believed the plaudits and positive words written about them and forgot to turn in an International performance .
As an English man I enjoyed the way Scotland played and won all parts on the game.

Ireland also somewhat lucky..

Scotland has been England's nemesis for quite a few years now....great Scottish performance, mind you England being down a player for 30 mins didn't help, but you have to score when in the opponents 22. . Ireland was lucky Gibson Park for me turned the game around for them.

Well makes it interesting going forward, everything to play for.

Was expecting a good game with Ireland today .
Thankfully the WiFi went down in the mountains and we did not see much of the second half. Surely it wasn’t as bad as the first half !

Borthwick is doing a Starmer ……on borrowed time. Maro Otoje doesn’t seem a strong enough leader who can change things on the field when the plan goes wrong…..borrowed time .
England have 2 games away and both look doubtful if current performance is not vastly improved. Italy having never beaten England must feel a win is possible. Nearest game was in 24 and they lost by 3 points.

Can only read the pundits coverage of the game but was anything positive ?

Beware of Italy, even if they lost today against France, I found them to be better than in previous years.A team not to be underestimated imho.

Love the Guinness irony……Was in Tarvisio, Italy yesterday to try to watch the game with France. Impossible to get any bar owners to
turn off football and the final stages of the Olympics. Really not popular round here, although we met one guy who said he enjoys , drives a Mini Cooper, wants a Mark 2 jJag and loves all old English sports cars ( including you know what!).
My sons first rugby tour was back in 2010 to Rome and we have another U13 or 14s going there at the end of March. Treviso has been another place we have played. In truth I thought it would have gained more traction in 20 years. Perhaps as Italy play better, interest might follow.

Sitting in a tee shirt in the sun, such a change from the endless winters rain…..any bets on a drought and hosepipe ban in August / September ?

Absolutely well played Ireland, maybe need to bring on more of the Connaught, Munster and Ulster players placing less reliance on Leinster players on a more permanent basis . Ireland was well up for the game, cant say the same for England....bitterly disappointing.
