Hello everyone! As the weather is warming up, tis the season for a little light maintenance on my 4/4. I wanted to give those usual nooks and crannies a little squirt of liquid protection in the form of ACF-50. Alas! My can, despite being 2/3 full of liquid, is completely out of propellant! Does anyone have any ideas? Can I just drill a hole and pour the contents out? A warning to those who have not used their can in a while. It may not squirt properly anymore. No sniggering at the back please. Looking at [the website selling AC-50]( https://acf50.co.uk/) to buy a new can, I came across this [corrosion block grease]( https://acf50.co.uk/product/corrosion-block-grease-16oz-tub/). Has anyone tried it for kingpin lubrication? I usually use Red 'n' Tacky.

I've had propellant loss issues before..............🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️😆
So...... I started buying it in a bigger bottle which comes with a little plastic bottle with a hand pump thingy...... no more problems...
I wouldn't pierce the can...............

Ditto for the big bottle. Aerosols are usually propelled by Butane so I would drill a hole or it might go bang

Same issue here, and because I'm from Yorkshire I will be drilling it...if I don't post again it went boom

I wouldn't drill it unless your thinking of a hand drill? Electric could spark.
If your certain it's lost its pressure (and not just blocked up) i would pierce it, maybe in a bucket on its side pointing at the neighbours lol

If you can crush the can there is no pressure. Use a pin chuck. Nice and gentle.

I would advise against it. The number of people who badly hurt themselves mixing a spark and aerosol can was a big concern when I worked at Reckitt & Colman. You may think it is degassed but if the mix inside is right it will ignite / explode. I am guessing AFC50 burns well as well WD40 does

This conversation sort reminds me of a mate who has a small farm, who called me a couple of weeks ago to say that he was just waiting for bomb disposal to show up.
A detectorist (detecting with permission) had found a very rusty hand grenade. Not only had he dug it up, but had walked half a mile back to the farm yard with it in his pocket and then put it in his car boot before phoning my mate who was out, to ask what he should do with it!! The answer can be imagined. Fortunately said detectorist picked it up and moved it a few yards into an adjoining field. The police turn up before bomb disposal and shut the site down, then thankfully the disposal guys moved it further out into the field and safely neutralised it with a small charge.

Yes there was a craze on the 90s when cfcs were replaced by butane in aerosols.
Kids would spray say furniture polish and ignite the spray with a lighter.
You would be surprised how much damage to them and their surroundings they achieved
