I have a MY22 PLus Four, automatic and without question it's the best Morgan I've ever had. I enjoyed my trads, but the CX is on a completely different level, so easy and enjoyable to drive...................

I had a 2010 Plus 4 for 16 years which I really enjoyed, however now that I am getting older, I have traded her in for a CX Plus four. The CX drives like a car, it is more comfortable and I can drive for longer, but it is more windier. The trad was more fun, but at the end of the day they are still both Morgans and you get to experience that Morgan feeling in both of them..

I have a 2023 MY late 2022 PlusFour manual, I'm very happy with it, already made some great roadtrips in it abroad, drives like a modern sportscar with just some Morgan tweaks. This weekend I drove our 1990 4/4 4-seater, as it has to be driven now and then (as a family car it had to stay for the younger generation), lots of character and fun, but at those moments you realize why you decided to buy a CX-generation Morgan. So much more comfortable! So don't be ashamed to drive a CX!

Les, if you like driving modern cars it could be right up your street, on the other hand…
CX plus points: It’s easy to drive.
I had the auto so there was plenty of room for your left foot. Would imagine the manual has the same problem as the trads.
Good MPG
Less rattles (just)
No need to carry a grease gun
CX minus points:
I had a model year 22 with the supposedly better hood design. Out of the 3 trads and the cx model I owned this was the worst regarding rain ingress.
The side screens are a pain in the backside. They are far too bulky and heavy and narrow the cockpit making movement of your right arm quite difficult and I’m only a small chap. I used to love driving the trads with the side screens off and storage of them was not a problem but with the CX you really struggle to fit them behind the seats. If you get a luggage rack with enough space to hold them it looks a right pigs ear!
With the hood up the draughts coming through the side screens are terrible, you’ll get rigor mortis in your right arm and backside.
The heaters rubbish compared to the trads.
Brakes – no feel and long pedal travel.
As a touring car it’s a pain having to stop every 200 miles to fill up because the tank is so small. Filling up is difficult, takes forever.
Hard ride.
When they designed this new Morgan I thought one of the first considerations would have been ground clearance given the problems with the trads. Well, all they did was alter it from the front to the back – forever scraping silencer, amazed it lasted as long as it did.
I won’t bore you with all the problems I had, radiators, brakes etc, suffice to say after a year I got rid.
Conclusion:
Go and try one, you never know, everybody’s different. If it were me I would stick with what you have, the trads are far more fun to drive and feel like a real Morgan. The CX only pretends and is not in the same league. Progress eh!

Odd my 22 hood is the best I've had. side screens go in a bag on the rack. I can get well over 200 miles on a tank. It is better in mpg than my Roadsters. High 20s vs mid forties on a long run. Either way after 3 or 4 hrs a break is welcome.
My brakes work well the travel is short. KH developed a car rocking system to bleed all the air.
The heater isn't the best. I noticed the supersports has a clear upgrade & yes one side freezes in draught whilst the other is warm. Heated seats thoug help.
Each to their own. It is different & not a trad. My knees though are far happier.

There you go, If you want a Morgan get a Trad........................!🤷🏻♂️.............anything else is just a pale imitation................................😆 Caveat Emptor........... I've driven one, and as I regularly say...... it was very good for a Morgan..... However........... it wasn't as much 'fun' as the real thing........😂 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Hoping to find out on Saturday ...... Do tell, are you looking at a CX? If so try both the manual and auto, the auto is a quick beast the extra torque shows.
