When it comes to your property or an elderly relatives property set up a property alert with the Land Registry, so they notify you if there is any activity or search going on the property in question. Every six months they automatically send you a email return of activity even a nil return.

Good call on the Land Registry alert John, I set one up on the recommendation of a conveyancing specialist a couple of years ago & added some relatives addresses (with their approval)

The system works. When my mother died earlier this year, we applied to the Land Registry to remove her name from the apartment which generated a ping.
