So, having nearly been eliminated by another blind lane-changer in a Range Rover who didn't bother looking, I am wanting to invest in a much louder horn.
When I was running motorcycles, I always upgraded to horn as a matter of good practice - saved my bacon more than once.
Would anyone have any advice as to the loudest and most aggressive car horn available on the market at present?
(NB - I don't want air horns that play La Cucaracha, just something that sounds like an 18 wheeler!)

Thanks in advance.

I fitted twin Fiamm horns, they fit nicely behind the grill and are really loud.

Thanks Keith - is that an air horn?
If so, is there a slight delay when activating as the compressor spins up?
And do you have a model number?

Had a couple of late-night near misses towing home from race meetings with (mostly foreign) artics drifting across lanes .... presumably they'd been driving through a few countries to position their tired carcasses in the path of my camper!

I got a pair of Russian truck-horns with associated compressor ... cheap as chips off ebay ... they sound like the last trumpeting of Angels at Armageddon (more like a US freight train than a road vehicle) .... ran them off the existing horn push through a relay .. because the compressor takes half a second to spool up you can give a quick polite toot of the old horn (sometimes useful) but if you hold the button a smidge longer it's WW3 🙂

Sure to wake even the most dozy midnight trucker.

Only issue may be finding a suitable unused space under the bonnet.

Thanks - any issues with the MOT renewal?

Never been mentioned at MOT time ... and they've been on several years.

If you're worried you can pull the relay and they'll only hear the polite horn. Wouldn't want to unleash the big-guns in the confines of a garage!! 🙂

Stebel Nautilus horns, built-in compressor and very loud, only problem here is I get mistaken for the boulanger’s van…

Be careful of imposing any additional amperage load on the circuit of the 3.7 Roadsters as I think it's wired via the complex (sometimes flaky) BCU

Richard V6 fitted some aftermarket horn to his & hopefully will be along to advise thumbs

+1 for the compact twin Steibel air horns available here. You will need a diode protected relay not the cheapo one supplied and also need to uprate horn fuse to 20 amp.

Following on from Jon's post above no worries about ECU, it's an entirely independent circuit. I used original wiring to provide main feed to relay without issue, just remember to uprate fuse.
