Normog Just a couple of days before your post I placed an order for the Librands Road hoop to be fitted to my Roadster by my dealer. It is clear from the quote that there is a substantial amount of labour involved to fit.I am doing it mostly for a feeling of security as I doubt I will be able to easily turn it over with my normal driving style. It does mean I can easily fit something more suitable if I ever had the opportunity to compete with it. I was a bit worried about the asthetics of it, but am assured it looks good on the car. Since you are in Oslo I know you are going to have to swallow hard when you see your quote. I have just received the quote for replacing one brake pipe and the front brake pads on my BMW here in Stavanger and that would itself cover the purchase cost of the hoop system in the UK. Would be happy to pick your car up in Oslo and drive it to the UK and back, would be a couple of pleasant weekends. Andy 2011 Roadster Andy, I was looking at a Librands roll bar today fitted to a Roadster that Allon White are selling. It's a very neat set up and the mountings are very substantial....at the same time, the profiling of the bar gives it a very good look without being too obtrusive. I'm tempted.

Yes Graham.....this morning. And a very nice job they have done as well. The new hood transforms the car.....apart from being so much quicker and easier to put up, the back window gives a better rear view and it's quieter than the old hood. They also modified the original tonneau to fit over the new hood, made a great job of that and saved me some money too! They also finished off the job by recovering the side screens in mohair.
I must say that I'm impressed with Allon Whites....very friendly lot to deal with.
One interesting car they have in...a Roadster...has a very neat power steering set up. Had me on my hands and knees....shame I hadn't my camera with me.

Jay Thanks for the input. I have made the decision and the car is going to RPM next weekend for the surgery, along with a Mulfabs modified sump.

Hi all I have just fitted a Librands Rollover bar to my 2003 Plus 8. Had the subframe painted to match the interior leather colour. It looks very good and fits under the std trad hood. Had half T/cover made and had the full T/cover modfied to take the roll bar, also the rear carpet trimed and edged to fit. Only had to cut a small section of wood away to allow the subframe to drop down to chassis. The subframe bolts to chassis in four places for and aft of rear axle, also the s/frame is bolted to wheel arch. The subframe can be used with a comp bar but hood does not fit. Easy to change to road s/s bar. Very pleased with it. It took about 8.5 hours to fit for the first time, could bring this down to about 6 hours if had to fit another. Phil

Hi Phil,
Could you get a picture taken and post it on the forum? The painted subframe sounds like a good modification.

Does anyone know which dealers or specialists have fitted these recently - i.e. Librands roll bar - how many hours labour and what cost for fitting?

RPM have installed a Librands bar. I seem to recall Russell talking about close to 12 hours labour for the installation.
