That´s interesting. My car has the later cast alloy uprights. My P4SS is #31. Racer, is your one an earlier built? Does someone know if MMC has changed the uprights during P4SS production?
My screen is without faults after 8000km. Often driven with hood up when it was too cold...

When they have removed the broken windscreen they discovered that
it was not correctly mounted.it was pushed to hard again the
leather wich is at the bottom back of the windscreen. This caused
a stress on the windscreen.

It looks to have cast alloy uprights.

A dealer technician told me that a common reason for the cracks appearing is that hood studs sometimes penetrate through the windscreen frame just a fraction. In turn, the tip of the stud nicks the edge of the glass causing the slowly spreading crack to appear.

I am still waiting for warranty approval.

So good that this came to light soon enough for warranty etc. Pleased it worked out for you and hoping I have no similar issues.

1st windscreen cracked at 11000 km in January when my 4/4 Sport was parking in the dealer's workshop, hood up. Windscreen and frame (reluctantly) replaced under warranty.

2nd windscreen cracked at 15000 km in July when the car was parking in my garage, hood down. Reported to my dealer a week ago, still waiting for a response.

I'll keep you updated...

Another one bites the dust mad
Its 16 months old and 8000 miles, crack just appeared in top left corner (nearside) one morning and has now travelled diagonally down.
Car is used in all weathers, hood up and down.
They are designed to withstand 115 mph top speed (so the book says), and the twisting loads of the flexible chassis, so it must be the edge of the glass in contact with something within the frame?
I've tried phoning MMC but answerphone says annual holiday shutdown.

well chaps add me too, my windscreen cracked when i opened the drivers door, hood was up and the crack is on the passager side from top to toe. I have looked up an american site and their forum puts the rubber seal at fault placing to much stress on the screen. they get glass cut and remove the rubber seal and use selicon to bed the screen in. I will be doing this at the moment this car is a pain.
its a 2010 4/4 sport. michael

Very tough luck michael....your Morgan experience to date hasn't been that great has it.

As you will find if you browse the forum re failed screens, it is impossible to get just the glass from either Morgan or the manufacturer of the glass and you end up being forced to buy the whole screen assembly at huge cost. Very annoying when you find out the cost of a flat piece of heated glass for say a Land Rover and VERY annoying when you look at UROGLASS website which raises ones hopes by stating

"Our compact organisation allows us to offer a personalised service to clients ranging from multi national vehicle manufacturers to the man or women on the street.

Whether you’re a creator of concepts, a classic restorer, a small volume vehicle producer or you just want a heated screen for your 911 we are here to help you."

Unless of course you have a Morgan and the factory forbids Uroglass to sell to anyone other than themselves.
