Talk Morgan Forums Thread Like Summary - Least frequently used tool?

Spring servicing time, and one task on my list was to check the condition of the coolant in the system. Time to get out the Refractometer, a tool which I rather enjoy using, but which of course rarely sees the light of day.

Coolant condition suitably assessed, the thing now gets put away, probably for 3 years. Next winter it's coolant change time, the winter afterwards experience tells me it'll still be fine, so it won't be needed until 2027 probably.

What other tools do we enjoy using but hardly ever need?

There is nothing quite as satisfying as having your own tools to hand when nothing else quite fits the bill. My collection of Morgan specific tools are very infrequently used, but nevertheless priceless when called upon. However, I’m under no illusion that one day the kids will sling this pile in the dustbin

Anybody else produced any bespoke tooling for their Morgan?

Tim, funny you should say that as back in 1979 my Scimitar GTE fuel tank sprung a leak, so I dropped it and repaired it with that iron and a little dab of BICC Coraline Flux always worked wonders with the stick solder.

I won it from work as I used it to strip and tin Litz wire which as you probably know is notoriously tricky to do successfully, happy days in a previous life on TX Stations..

Our cobbler's last is used as a doorstop for the back door. I can't remember the last time I actually cobbled anything. Done loads figuratively of course :-)

Small tool roll recently found with some King dick spanners and a wire twisting set of pliers and a bar of fruit and nut last used on a Bedford RL green godess during the Fireman's strike.

Richard, I've tried it in the old F Super...but that can't do 341 mph !
