What better way to get freezing cold could there be than washing a jet first thing on a Sunday!

This particular jet is a record holder. as far as I know, the record is unsurpassed to this day.

The poor thing has a green tinge and was in dire need of a spruce up. It’s privately owned so not part of any Remembrance Day ceremonies but still, a good day to focus on our military history.

I set fire to a Lightning in Lincolnshire in the 1980's as well.......it was a big blue flame and very loud! Then I put it out when it came out of reheat 😁.

About to embark on another Italian road trip beginning in Edinburgh, time to spare some we went to east fortune aerodrome, Lightning and friends aplenty, Concorde still amazes.

That’s the one Keith, we don’t do “tacky” company jets in the NE, but the faster the better, it’ll be quicker now it’s clean!

Landy has been faultless Rich, after I warmed up , I went to the woods to spray herbicide at the stems of my Larch saplings, they’re struggling to out grow the grass and weeds.

For some extra pictures, we also shot blasted the chassis of the Eclat and picked up a second scrap Eclat for spares recently.

I should really take the Morgan out for a trip before they salt the roads, maybe next weekend if I can spare the the time😂

Good to see that XR749 is getting some care and attention. I have some history with that aircraft when it was with the Lightning Training Flight at RAF Binbrook in the 1980's.

Awesome picture planenut, one aspect which the photos don’t really show is how small the cockpit is, it must have been very uncomfortable
. Off the scale cool though.

In the mid 70’s I was in the RAF and I set fire to a Lightning in Lincolnshire ( it was a training exercise ) the plane was just a shell.
But it’s my claim to fame.
