After driving the newer cars day in and day out, with their Electronic Stability Controls, Anti-Lock brakes, variable geometry this that and the other, auto transmissions, emission control crap, more safety crap, catalytic converters, auto headlights, back-up cameras, power everything, etc., etc., it just feels right to jump in the Morgan and drive.

I relish the dashboard made of a solid slab of wood, I enjoy no wind-up windows, no power assisted anything, no door handles on my car, and yes, the stiff suspension. The old Morgan joke was that you can ride over a cigarette butt and tell if it's filter-tip or regular. I like it that way. I like roaring around listening to God's own exhaust notes, shifting the old four speed, pitying the lesser mortals with their cushy suspensions, a grin on my face.

Nope, I'm going to keep my old sliding pillars.

My everyday car (Mercedes) does what it's designed to do beautifully, it's smooth, quiet and comfortable, cozychair but .....I never go for a drive in it just for fun, like I do with my Plus 8!! drive
