Q8 - the dealer had fitted a replacement bevel box to a used M3W for sale in the showroom. It had a noisy one originally.
When mine disintegrated they just took it back out and fitted it into my M3W. No need to wait for the factory to supply a replacement, so it was fixed in a couple of days.
I believe the ecu keeps the revs down for around the first 20 hours whilst running in. Only 400 miles to first service, so it can't be too far off allowing all the horses come out to play
