[quote=AQM]Let me repeat that in dusty conditions, an oiled foam filter is better than a dry paper filter.

Even the aeroplane industry agrees - you know, the one where everything has to be tested and retested, and documented.

Here's the Pilatus Porter PC-6:

Their "desert kit" consists of a box with oiled foam filters rather than the ordinary, smaller filters they use. They don't do this to add more air to the aircraft's turbine intake, but to stop ingress of sand and dust.[quote=AQM]

I never thought I would do this - and I speak as one of TM's more contentious posters
You must, by now have appreciated that the whole reason for the success of this site is that we all feel free to express opinions and accept other people's
WE have true freedom of speech and for that, I'm very thankful One of our salient feature s that we don't niggle, we don't rant ( well not overmuch), we are polite, we use moderate language ( which doesn't include 'tosser' and /or 'freaking' on a frequently recurring basis) and we know when to stop,
We are lucky that the Mods on this site are enlightened and tolerant of our foibles

I'm getting heartily sick of reading your posts and the fact that you don't seem to know when it's time to stop posting on a thread even when the other contributors have indicated that they have nothing further to say.

I have better things to do with my time. If this offends the Mods or anyone else on this site, I'm happy to withdraw from the site as of now
You might, perhaps to take my views on board? ( and not reply with a self indulgent tirade)
