Nigel, not bricks but wooden towers screwed and glued and very stable. I made them from offcuts, and they can be used either the way you see them here.or on their sides for a slightly lower lift. I've given it a really good shake, and it's rock solid. However I won't linger underneath without additional precautions.
The gearbox is supposed to be MX5.
