A question for you Dave:
Do you think Neoprene sponge strip would replace the woven webbing strip between bulkhead and bonnet? The curve on both sides has flattened the webbing to about 1mm so requires replacement. It constantly squeaks/creaks and requires copious amounts of petroleum jelly every 100miles or so. I am intending to renew webbing and use antisqueak tape on the bonnet but wonder if there is any experience with a sponge replacement which might take up all the bonnet to body vibrations? All TMer ideas welcome, thanks in advance.
