Looking under Aldermog I noticed that under each front wing, starting just above the top of the wheel and running back behind the cat is a 12"wide sheet of what seems to be quilted aluminium heat insulation. Clearly it's main purpose is to protect the wing from stone and other damage.
Aldermog has run 20,600 miles now and the paintwork seems fine, no sign of paint loss under the front wings. The rear's will be subject to inspection next week!!
