Interesting Ian...guess there is a link between most sold and most recalled. Let's face it nobody is perfect and things are learnt in the field (often with a sense of over precaution - such as the window switch - or based on a limited number of incident, "that may....).
The most important thing is lessons can be learnt and corrected. When in the UK my Saab had a recall that had not caused an issue but had been identified that might (fuel pipe routing if I recall correctly).
