Jays - re axle width, simply that an Australian pick up truck axle is too wide for a small UK sports car. Which is why you end up with a dart shape and the S1 Roadster being over five inches wider across the rear axle than the front axle.
Frank, regarding LEAN - if it worked effectively at MMC then I would hope that the man who fits the hoses (every day) to the Plus 4 would have raised a concern that there were several chafe points. Now either the problem hasn't been raised, or it was raised and rationalised away, as not a significant risk. If LEAN is operating as intended, all that will be documented.................
In Terms of prototyping de-snagging Adrian, the same blockers apply to product improvement. The Roadster sump clearance must have been raised as an issue, because it's a real issue, but the cost of sorting it must have rationalised it away. This is another example where, if minuted, would make fascinating reading.
