Mmm quite a mystery - there is a washer on the drain nut ...could that have been missed off when the BB oil was changed?

This could ( if only in theory) allow oil to seep out v gradually over time.

But I would expect that you would have seen tell signs of oil around the floor plates under the BB?

Quite a quandry?? And a worry as I would expect the the gear mesh would get damaged pretty quickly without any lube.
