Single malt prices continue to rise as the far east market demands more and more of the stuff. The usual rubbish (JW) may no longer be enough as tastes mature.

But it isn't just single malts that have seen a price rise. Bourbons and Ryes has also seen strong price growth over the last 2 years - primarily fuelled by a greater demand by bartenders pushing the boundaries of bourbon based cocktails - but also down to relatively poor Rye harvests.

Top end Bourbons (Colonel E.H. Taylor for example) have seen substantial rises - 18mths ago you could get a bottle for 80usd - currently retailing at £120 in WhiskeyExchange.
