The all metal rads were replaced sometime around 2006. I have metal tanks on my Roadster.
The biggest problem with alloy rads is that they are difficult to repair, (I'm told), so if you get a leak, that's not good news. I would also try to flexibly mount to the chassis, to avoid stressing the mounting brackets.
