I also suffered the bent bar syndrome recently when I had to use the standard tool in anger for first time on my GTN. Talked to Lionel Roberts, who machines a range of spinner tools and solved for the spinners on my Jags, sent him the original tool and...magic: a perfect tool with 38mm socket on which I use an extending ratchet/breaker bar (see pics). His prices are very reasonable (sub £50); not sure what his final price for these will be but expect around same as spinners.
