The issue for me isn't the non PC innuendos. Clarkson has his origins in South Yorkshire and there are Clarksons around every corner here. His humour is very much of where he found his feet (Rotherham Advertiser if I recall correctly).
The problem is that the last few specials have been dire. Some were unwatchable, and so I didn't see them to the end. This series has had two dire episodes. The first was the over-long ambulance feature - predictable on format and slapstick in content. The second was the 'maroon Hammond on a mountain in the snow'. Again this was over long and predictably pointless. So the format I believe is time expired. If TG continues without Clarkson, it will struggle unless they revamp the format. Sabine Schmit would be an asset though. Not sure about Guy Martin - I like his one man shows, but I don't see him relating well to the other two on TG. Apparently all three TG presenters are near to signing new contracts, so all three could walk away and do TG elsewhere.
I've watched a couple more of the Quentin & Jodie show, but although some of the content is OK, it's pitched too high - mega expensive cars, some are hardly classics, and the pair of them are as dry as sahara sand to watch.
