But I do think they should screen the remainder of this series. Having presumably recorded most of it already and so incurred the costs, it is petty in the extreme to refuse to screen those episodes.
The bits they have on film are some of the inserts, ie car tests. None of the linking bits, the star in a reasonably priced car, audience bits and any Stig bits are filmed as this is done on a Wednesday. Content wise, probably a bit over half but with nothing to hang them on, rather silly to attempt.
If it is a Clarkson attempt to get better terms on a new contract, I think he'll be sadly disappointed, attitudes to stars are not what they were and I could see it being the end of any BBC employment for him.
