Sorry Reg, I don't agree. In this day and age you just cannot be allowed to hit someone in the face in a work place and be allowed to get away with it.
It is a sad end to Top Gear and Clarkson should be ashamed of himself for bringing the programme down.
That's the point the line has to be drawn and Clarkson clearly crossed it end of story we don't live in the jungle anymore.
