It all does rather depend on when the car was made and the rear hub and sprocket.
My Oct 2012 car originally had the single sided sprocket and the belt ran to one side (and the rear wheel was not central). The rear end was making horrible noises from 3500 miles and the hub and rear sprocket was changed under warranty (despite Morgan not playing ball - the dealer got this sorted for me very helpfully). Now the rear wheel is basically central and - at present - the rear is quiet and the belt sits on the sprocket and doesn't foul the wheel.
