If you were using it as a track day car or a basis for racing you would strip out heater, passenger seat, upholstery, carpets, some instruments and no doubt some other non essentials.
Think Caterham and you get the idea.
Stripped out gives you a great headline price point but the extras always come as a high price.
As an example I upgraded a faulty PVC to mohair and it cost me an extra £250 the difference between the two materials. The labour is the same. Actually the mohair is easier to work with.
The cost of a mohair hood over PVC if ordered new was £2000.
