Well I didn't buy my Golf for its emissions. I bought it for the 170GTD engine with excellent economy and build quality.

Would I buy another VW - yes, because I suspect that most of the major manufacturers are manipulating emissions one way or another.

But this event could really damage VAG financially and prevent them entering F1 in a couple of years. Heads need to roll, and I wonder how high up the food-chain the knowledge went.
