I have a 2014 Brooklands. I took it from home (Pleasanton, CA) up to Canada in August. It had about 4500 miles on it when I started. The plan was for about a 3600 mile round trip.
The left exhaust cracked at about 5500 miles but it was still driveable. I didn't get a temporary weld.
The right exhaust cracked at about 6000 miles. Again, still driveable and I didn't get a temporary weld.
At about 6500 miles the right exhaust came apart so there was about a 1/4" gap which made it very loud.
At 7000 miles the starter broke. I was in Montana and I had to have it shipped back to the dealer. My mechanic sent me a video which appears to show a stripped gear so the starter turns but the engine doesn't turn.
I have been told that just about every Brooklands gets broken exhausts, but that the replacement exhausts I will be getting are upgraded.
I am waiting for S&S to decide if they want to rebuild or replace my engine. I've been waiting over a month so I'm not very impressed with their customer service.
I am told I'm not the only person whose engine has failed in this way. There are apparently some engine upgrades I will be getting when it is fixed but I don't know what they are.
