I very much agree with you. Although I am perfectly capable of fettling most things on my +8 (albeit not up to Dave W standard) this is one job that I would not tackle.

Yes I can strip out all of the seats , transmission tunnels , and start to remove the rear springs which is of course much easier with 2 people , one above and one below, and I could re-install them myself. The remainder (which is where most of the time will be spent I think) will be the precise location of the brackets on the axle , and the build up and fitting of all the the other 5 links and Panhard rod.
The axle is a heavy old lump of metal and I would not want to have that flailing around in the back of the car.
Setting up the corner weights is something that I would have no idea about.

OK there are going to be those among us who do have a really well equipped workshop, plenty of space around the car, and the skills and experience to know how to do this, in which case I am sure they will make a great job of it.
For me this is going to be a pretty simple choice.
