But we don't like keyless starts on modern cars do we? Makes them easier to pinch...........allegedly.

I'll bet this is BMW technology.
But "keyless" that goes into a slot is a lot more secure than keyless that simply opens the car and allows it to be started whilst the key is in your pocket. This is because the range of the transmitter is only enough to be read in the slot.
I have no objection to this: the "key" enables the immobiliser and releases the steering column lock, then allows power to the master switch. The master switch must be turned on (this is a bit of theatre) before the start button is pressed.
Anyway, Morgans are not interesting to the typical "tea leaf"...or so i'm told.
I rather like the performance!
