I love the looks of the added height and width. I'm sure the function will be welcomed after you have some miles driving with them.
As you had no issues with the installation, I would like to add a tip for others.
When drilling polycarbonate, PETG, plexiglass etc, a fluted drill bit can catch into the plastic and either quickly be sucked into the hole, chip the plastic or worse, crack it out from the hole.
Over the many years of fabricating machinery guards and other around the house and motorcycle plastic fabricating, I've gotten very used to using stepped drills. Unibit is a brand name that I believe started the technology. These are available at good prices from Harbor Freight here in the US and probably other discount houses in the UK and Europe. Although the Harbor Freight stepped bits are very cheap and not "Unibit" brand, they do work good for plastics and light metals. These are the ONLY bits I would use to drill body weight aluminum, sorry, aluminium...
