Raising the front of the seat helps with support if your long legs are bent, steering spacer or not. Just try a wooden batten under the front of the seat & if it helps make some brackets to attach it to the bottom of the seat.

Good advice.

I do a similar thing when I fly commercial. I take blanket and fold it up and place it across the front of the seat under my legs. This makes the travel much more enjoyable.
