The fuse was the 10 amp in the black square fuse box. When it blows it shuts down then fuel pump. IF your 10 amp fuse works and you don't have problems, there is no absolute need to change it. However, some cars have experienced a problem, mainly those that have the engine over-run after switching off the ignition, and this can cause a problem with the 10 amp fuse. The 20 amp fuse is recommended in these instances and the wiring is more than sufficient to cope with it being 20 amp.

So, the change is optional. My car has had the engine over-run fix so that may be why I've not had a problem with that 10amp fuse. So, the choice is yours, however, I will keep an extra 20 amp fuse in the car and should I have a problem I will change over from 10 to 20amp.

The fuse in question in my S4 is 20A.
