GLLGH,

Pounds per litre is less horrifying ...

Some non-metric units are still in use in Germany, too.

We love our wheel sizes in Zoll = inches. Bicycles as well as car wheels. It´s simpy much easier to buy a 26 inch bicycle tyre instead of a 669 mm. Or 28 inch vs. 722 mm.

The pressure inside the loved tyres is measured in bar, which is almost as non-metric as psi.

Garden hoses and the respective fittings are 1 1/4 inch or 1 1/2 inch.

Diamonds are still weighed in non-metric carat.

And last but not least it sounds much better if our pride and joy has 200 horsepowers compared to a meager 149 kilowatts.

By the way: outside it is cold, only 283 K.

Have a good day
sorry for getting off-topic,
Andy
