A tip I was given by Phil at Allon White when getting my first Mog was to lever up the bronze damper blade fixing plate on rhe stub axle whilst greasing the lower nipple. Watch for some grease appearing in the small gap you have created indicating good grease penetration. Wipe off excess.
Keep damper blade greased where it slides into the chassis mounting system.
The 4/4 had the one shot oiler system.....be carefull not to over use it! I suggest replacing it with a grease nipple....getting the system properly disconnected and sealed off is a MUST though.
Also spray the rear springs with motorbilke chain oil as it penetrates the leaves to aid sliding on each other. The leaf springs get "sluggish" when dry.
Presume fitting a grease nipple for oil rather than grease as its pre 2000?
