Actually Martyn, just being a pedant ;-), if the choice is a remote kit or no grease I would say get a remote kit, better that than let them run dry. As you correctly say I am not a fan but only for the reasons that it's hard to see how much excess is coming out (minor point) but. More important (IMHO) is that getting under affords the chance for a quick look around and spanner check. Totally accept that this is not always an advantage to those who have as much mechanical experience a I have with IT or who physically struggle. II have some very good friends who have bought a gun, some have even bought grease but the 2 items have never been introduced to each other and or the car! Given that situation a remote kit might just chivvy them on to greasing the pins.

No dispute that a remote kit is better than not greasing at all. But to para-phrase Voltaire, in the best of all possible worlds, one greases directly.
"The best of all possible worlds" is a Leibniz concept "die beste aller möglichen Welten". Voltaire made a criticism of Leibniz through Candide character who says this sentence and Voltaire demonstrated it is not true.
In fact Voltaire said: you suffer to much in greasing your front suspension to think that you live in the best of all possible worlds... Voltaire was at the origin of the French Revolution.
We are waiting a Morgan revolution for the front suspension!
