Well, we're back.
Well I am, I last saw the others at Newbury Services on the A34 where we returned each others underwear..
I can't think of another holiday I've been on that has been such fun, such relaxation and such a laugh. I've told them this already, but a really heartfelt thank you to John, Ian & Steve for your company & companionship over the last ten days.
We've giggled like school kids most of the time, and being as childish as only middle aged men can, and reading the comments on here makes it all really worthwhile knowing that many of you can giggle along with us too. It's been that sort of holiday.
A special thanks goes to Mario & his lovely family, who not only gave us unlimited assistance when we needed it, and fed us when we were wilting from the heat, but also made the event such an enjoyable & memorable one that we're still buzzing from it. Knowing that he also drove like a superstar makes me feel very proud of the Morgan connection, and also Talk Morgan because, let's be honest, if it wasn't for this forum we'd never have been able to achieve this.
On the car front, none of the four cars gave even a hint of playing up, breaking down or doing anything other than do exactly what they were asked when we asked them and that speaks volumes.
We cruised at 60-70mph on motorways and anything from 25mph upwards when we explored those 'real Spain' roads, meaning that the engines sipped at fuel and at one fill up, there was barely a few litres in between Jays Roadster and my little Sigma.
We were made to feel very welcome by so many other drivers & riders, with hoots, honks and thumbs up all over the place. With four cars all liveried up we looked like a serious bunch, although the reality was we were either looking for coffee, lavatories or lunch..!
We got split up disembarking from the boat, and whilst queuing to be searched (twice for me..!!) I got a text from a friend. He told me he'd been to the funeral this morning of a work colleague he thought of a friend. Same age as he & I, too. He ended his text with saying we ought to make the most of life's opportunities, and I couldn't help but feel very humble and grateful that all of us had indeed just done that very thing.
Guys, thank you so much. It was an honour to laughed at by you all..
