I hope that the introduction of the new senior management can develope the quality side of the business. Outside expertise and experience could well overcome the long term ethos and habits that have become the norm.
Fresh blood often brings in new ideas, and challenges the "old ways".
It is not rocket science after all. Many small changes that are easy to do will have obvious benefits and start the process.
As above...don't accept rusty washers when fitting! Get suppliers/stock control on board so that assemblers get the right bits. That can encourage them in their efforts rather than discouraging them.
Same with made in bits. Develope attitudes to quality.
