Well said! Blindingly obvious I would have thought. Same goes for drinking whilst driving ... (pause for obvious retorts) ... tip the head back to drain the last half of the can/cup and you cannot help but take your eyes off the road. Take a break; stop and enjoy the drink.


Got to agree with much of this. If I attempt to play with the satnav on the family car whilst mobile, I wander. Maybe not lane to lane but I wander nevertheless. But I can drive without issue whilst eating an apple. The difference is that I know where my mouth is without looking. I dont know what the sat nav says without looking. And that was the point I was making about speed traps. The only safe way to go though a trap in a 30 limit is at 20mph because that way you dont concentrate on the speedo.

There is an age issue here as well. My ability to multi task at 71 isnt remotely what it was at 21. I am much slower to process multiple inputs.
