If your car is on charge on a sunny day to be free you can't be out in it at the same time.......best buy two, one on charge, one out working (close to home). In the winter go back to petrol.
But really, I believe if you are self employed you can put the whole cost of an electric car against tax. Could wipe out my tax bill easily.
