We have BT call guardian (or some such), which eliminates unsolicited calls. It's fantastic.
I wonder if that's an option for me as Talktalk business supplies both phone and broadband albeit on BT infrastructure.
They are not the cheapest but extremely good service record for me, if there are line faults they are acting within 2 working days with Openreach at the latest.

We are also with Talk Talk and, like everyone else, we get these calls.
The last one said he was calling from the windows office so I had quite a long call about my double glazing but I am concerned about staying on the line too long. Does anyone have any idea if these gits can do anything whilst you are talking to them?
As for call blocking, Talk Talk gave me this code to block all future calls from the last dodgy number:-
Dial14258 then press * twice after call. To report scam, 0800 0832710
