I wouldn't rule out a scissor lift. You can do practically any job you need to do, they are mobile, non-intrusive, and inexpensive.
In the extremely rare occurrence when you might need access to the centre of the car, all you need to do is rest the car on trestles and drop the lift out of the way.
Tim , I want to have around 1.7m min under the car ie standing height.I've just rung C J Autos who go to all the car shows , theirs is their own design but made like everything else these days - the far east. The fact that they sell to the likes of you and I only and exibit at all the shows is a good sign , if there is a problem people would flag up any issues .
