I fitted the tubular hoop conversion to my 4/4 about 8 years ago, together with Spax dampers. I had heard of the issue with Konis losing their adjustment once they's bottomed out, but I didn't know it was also possible with the Spax dampers.
I must have been lucky, because I can still adjust mine (just took them up a couple of clicks as we're off to France at the end of next week, and we'll be carrying luggage).
