There was a story on Mogtalk last year where the PCB behind the dash switches - which apparently includes the flashing function - had failed and had to be replaced at some alarming cost. Lets hope it's not that then.
got a call, it is fixed, what it was: dunno, but will post, it's under waranty (or I destroy the AeroSS on display this sunday)
