I am confused by this - my dealer described the sequence for hood fitting as
Install Hood - Rear before front
Remove hood - Rear before front
It's all about avoiding pulling on the windscreen fixings
????
I agree that it's important to avoid stressing the windscreen, but I've never heard anyone advising securing the rear first. Are you sure you were listening carefully to your dealer, or is it possible you misunderstood what he was telling you in your excitement?
Whether one has the Easy-up hood, the Trad hood, or a Simmonds hood, the procedure is the same - fix it at the front, then clip down the back.
Similarly, when releasing you undo the rear first to take the tension off, then remove from the windscreen.
It's the way I've always done it on my car (first with a traditional hood, now with a Simmonds) and in 17 years I've not had a problem.
