My M3W has finally got into a garage in Provence after a two and a bit year wait, while we owners organised a new service dealer. There is a very long list of major work required on my Mog. While checking the chassis very carefully for cracks (the folk are basically historic race car dealers and restorers), I am delighted they have not found any cracks but have found quite a lot of paint loss and surface corrosion. I have put a call in to the factory about this but surprise, surprise, have not heard back from them. Given that the car is only used in the summer months in the south of France, where today the humidity is 31% and kept in a dehumidified classic car store over the winter, if any M3W was not going to get chassis corrosion, you would think it was this one. Do I just say give the bits you can see a good scrub, inert with phosphoric acid and repaint or should the chassis be stripped out, sand blasted and powder coated. I would add some photos but the max file size now appears to be 1KB, which would be meaninglessly small.
