I have been following the evolution of the Slingshot for some time and it certainly is interesting to note the differences in approach to the engineering and development program and with a base price under US$29,000 also looks good value.
The Slingshot was certainly quite quick. As I was on my own and could not therefore read the road book and drive, the Slingshot was my designated "Follow Me" vehicle. I was having to work reasonably hard to keep up with it in my 500+ BHP Porsche 911 Turbo S. On the downside, it did not generate nearly as many smiles from people we passed, as the M3W does and its 4 cylinder alloy 2.4L Chevrolet engine sounds rather pedestrian in comparison to my S&S with Garage 56 pipes.
