Use pulse width modulation to dim leds not a normal pot.
You can get led dimmers exactly for doing that job.
I'm finding that the ones I am using are dimming in the Morgan. I know the conventional theory is that you need pulse width modulation but the pot used in the Morgan does seem to work. They already have a small resistor attached to the back of the LED and I suspect that the bare LED is actually designed to work at a lower voltage so the resistor is required to reduce the current to a manageable level.
