Day two and three.

We left La Farlede accompanied by Raphael and Odile in the 4/4 Anniversary and mad a dash along the Autoroute to the golf club at Pont Royal. Brilliant sunshine and a pleasant and rather ample lunch. We then bid farewell to our friends and continued our boring dash along the Autoroute being blasted by an ever stronger Mistral. We finally paused for the night in a small village of Villeneuve de Riviere where we were booked for the night at L'Hostellerie des Cèdres. Heavy rain overnight but we parted in a very cool morning with the hood down and the heater on.

This was once again another 500km mainly on Autoroute but this time we passed for many kilometres along the rolling hills and forests along the foot Pyrenees; a much more pleasant drive. We had the hood down until we crossed in to Spain and the Atlantic coast where we were greeted by a gentle rain. Naturally this gave rise to a chorus of "The rain in Spain" etc.

Last night and tonight we are at Hotel Verdemar above San Vicente de la Barquera. We stayed here on our last trip coming back from Caramulo. It is a fabulous little hotel with a spa in the lower level and great views of the sea and the mountains. All around are green fields. Alis says it is like Switzerland on the sea.
