That looks much the same as on Tarka.
I suspect the curved section acts to strengthen the structure against lateral stress. But when Tarka goes in for a service next month I'll get Williams to carefully clean and check the bracket.
Looking at the photos it seems that the securing bolts go in from within the car, making removing it not an easy job.
